Beyond

Beyond is our extracurricular programme, comprising more than 100 clubs, activities and societies. Beyond plays a central role within school life. Students are offered many opportunities to explore and extend their interests, make friends across age groups and, through personal achievement, build confidence and self-belief.

We actively encourage students to give new things a go. There are clubs and societies from fencing and photography to philosophy and Mandarin as well as activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Tycoon Enterprise Challenge; all of which open doors to a host of new experiences. Students can participate purely for fun or follow their strengths and excel through selective teams and groups or music and drama productions. Overseas expeditions, whether playing lacrosse in the USA or community work in Eswatini, provide experiences of a lifetime and play their part in developing self-reliance.

Activities beyond the classroom give students the space and opportunity to make their own choices, develop their abilities and find their own path.

Tycoon Enterprise Competition

Students in Y10 have an exciting opportunity to take part in the Tycoon Enterprise Competition run by the Peter Jones Foundation. Teams work together to create a business plan and learn valuable skills about running a real business, setting and meeting their own deadlines as well as creating and launching a product.

Schools across the country take part in the competition every year. In 2022, one of our teams of young entrepreneurs won the Innovative Business Award at the finals.
