Beyond is our extracurricular programme, comprising more than 100 clubs, activities and societies. Beyond plays a central role within school life. Students are offered many opportunities to explore and extend their interests, make friends across age groups and, through personal achievement, build confidence and self-belief.
We actively encourage students to give new things a go. There are clubs and societies from fencing and photography to philosophy and Mandarin as well as activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Tycoon Enterprise Challenge; all of which open doors to a host of new experiences. Students can participate purely for fun or follow their strengths and excel through selective teams and groups or music and drama productions. Overseas expeditions, whether playing lacrosse in the USA or community work in Eswatini, provide experiences of a lifetime and play their part in developing self-reliance.
Activities beyond the classroom give students the space and opportunity to make their own choices, develop their abilities and find their own path.

Tycoon Enterprise Competition
Students in Y10 have an exciting opportunity to take part in the Tycoon Enterprise Competition run by the Peter Jones Foundation. Teams work together to create a business plan and learn valuable skills about running a real business, setting and meeting their own deadlines as well as creating and launching a product.
44 schools across the country took part in the competition last academic year, one of our teams came 8th in the leader board based on profit. Two teams of six Y10 students took part in the competition last academic year. The teams decided to make sustainability a central feature in their business plans and created recycled products. Each took their businesses online due to the pandemic, demonstrating resilience and excellent enterprising skills.
